Tacoma, WA (PRWEB) August 25, 2012

Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 7:00pm at the LeMay America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, WA, a free public event is scheduled to raise awareness of sleep apnea and snoring. Speakers include former NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon, All Pro DB Nesby Glasgow, dental icon David Gergen and Dr. Steve Marinkovich. NFL heroes will share personal experiences, struggles and losses associated with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) to the audience of CPAP users and potential sufferers. Event attendees will include the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), American Legion members and Sleep Group Solutions, who will be providing 25 free Home Sleep Tests to the attendees.

Why former NFL members to raise awareness of sleep apnea? With over 60% of the NFL suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, who better to speak? “The Tackle Sleep Apnea campaign has created quite a buzz with the retired NFL guys. I am looking forward to lending a hand to this campaign to boost awareness of the dangers of sleep apnea.” says Warren Moon former NFL superstar and Hall of Fame member. The event has also attracted Seth C Bowels, 4th District Commander American Legion Department in Washington. " We are honored to take part in such a worth while cause, we will be out in numbers! The Pro Player Health Alliance is changing peoples lives for the better and we are very pleased to be a part of this awaking". says Mr. Bowels. Members of the VFW will also have a presence during the event, as many members are CPAP intolerant.

Event speaker, Dr. Steve Marinkovich, a general dentist and AADSM Diplomate in Tacoma, Washington, will discuss screening and treatment options available to attendees. "As a dentist I have helped many people with their oral conditions, making them healthier. I have never had such an impact on patients, as I have since I started treating Sleep Disordered Breathing problems.” says Dr. Marinkovich. Event supporters, David Gergen, President of Pro Player Health Alliance and Rani Ben-David, Chairman of PPHA have started this nation wide campaign with former NFL heroes to integrate education and sleep apnea awareness in a fun and memorable way. Some attendees will receive free home sleep tests, courtesy of Sleep Group Solutions to determine if sleep apnea is present.
