Sleep Apnea Awareness Continues to Rise with New Studies and Supporting Documentation on the Dangers of Snoring and Sleep Apnea

With such a high demand for quality sleep courses, Dentists across the country are participating in dental continuing education courses, which focus on screening and treating snoring and sleep apnea.  Dental Sleep Medicine education company, Sleep Group Solutions continue to grow as leaders in complete sleep protocol solutions, offering nearly 100 live lectures in 2014.  Sleep Group Solutions is pleased to announce February dates for live lectures in Dental Sleep Medicine, which discuss the dangers of OSA, and treatment options.

Dr. Michael Hnat, a Dental Sleep Medicine expert, and DSM instructor, stresses the importance of learning your role in treating SA (sleep apnea) patients.  “Sleep Apnea is a matter of the heart.”  says Dr. Michael Hnat.  “Researchers at the Mayo Clinic found that patients with obstructive sleep apnea have an increased risk of having a heart attack between typical sleeping hours.  In fact, in their study, 91% had OSA.  This is rather convincing support of the effect of nighttime oxygen shortages on heart function.”  Dr. Michael Hnat discusses shared risk factors associated with OSA during his lecture, and shares treatment options with supporting medical and scientific data.

The Sleep Group Solutions courses cover industry topics such as; screening techniques, instrumentation, visual signs and symptoms, oral appliances, insurance and billing, home sleep testing, marketing, and more.  “2014 will be a busy year in Sleep.  SGS is offering nearly 100 opportunities to learn live, I believe that is the most courses offered by one single Dental Sleep Medicine education company.”  say Vice President John Nadeau.  “We are adding locations such as Indianapolis, Nashville, and San Diego, to accommodate more dentists to learn Sleep.”  SGS is also the distributor and manufacturer of the Eccovision System, Pharyngometer and Rhinometer, which maps out the airway in real time.
